Rabbits are returning to the New Holland Fair in 2025 following an eight year hiatus!

The Rabbit Show and Sale takes place at the livestock tents on Fulton Street at the New Holland Sales Stables. Participants should review the information below and direct any questions to the listed chairman.

Eligibility

  1. Youth classes are open to any boy or girl who is a member in good standing of a chartered FFA chapter or 4-H club in Pennsylvania in good standing.

Preregistration

  1. Exhibitors must pre-register using the Showman App website by Monday, September 22, 2025.
    • Pay a $1 per rabbit or $5 meat pen entry fee at time of registration on the Showman App.
  2. Exhibitors should register for showmanship using the Showman App based on age as of January 1 of the current year. 
    • Senior Showmanship: Ages 16–18.
    • Intermediate Showmanship: Ages 12–15.
    • Junior Showmanship: Ages 8–11.
    • Champion Showman.
    • Reserve Champion Showman.
    • Peewee Showmanship (Ages 7 and under).
  3. Exhibitors may register up to 10 total animals.

Health

  1. All Pennsylvania exhibitors must present a completed Vet Client Relationship Form (VCRF) to fulfill the Animal Exhibition Sanitation Act. This form is available for printing as a document in the Showman App.
  2. All animals must be free of evidence of infectious and contagious diseases.

General Rules

  1. All exhibitors must sign the “Veterinary–Client-Patient Relationship Statement” provided on the entry form.
  2. All rabbits will be health checked upon arrival. Any rabbits displaying clinical signs of contagious or infectious disease or appear ill must be removed from the fair grounds and your entry fee will be forfeited.
  3. All rabbits must be permanently and legibly tattooed in the left ear prior to arriving at the fairgrounds.
  4. Meat pen rabbits must weigh between 3–5.5lbs and be no more than 70 days old as of the date of the show.
  5. All carriers must have leak proof bottoms.
  6. Each exhibitor is responsible to have his or her rabbits on the show table for judging. Youth exhibitors must put rabbits on the show table for the Junior show.
  7. All rabbits will be entered and shown as a breed type as listed below, with judging on the individual rabbit’s match to its breed and type standard. During judging, the judge may ask the exhibitor what specific breed subtype their entry is (such as English Lop vs. Fuzzy Lop) and will place the class by which rabbit most closely resembles their breed standard in the judge’s opinion.
  8. Exhibitors attempting to or interfering with, annoying, influencing a judge or acting in an unbecoming manner will be rejected from the show.
  9. Breed class rabbits under 3 months old (except meat pens) or over 2 weeks pregnant will not be allowed. No does with litters will be permitted.
  10. Exhibitors are required to coop meat pens for the entirety of the fair.
  11. All rabbits must be in the showroom by 9 a.m., show starts promptly at 10 a.m.
  12. Showmanship & Breed show rabbits will be released at the end of the show and not sold during the livestock sale. Top 3 meat pen rabbits will be sold at the livestock sale.
  13. Exhibitors are expected to help clean up after the show. Meat Pen exhibitors are expected to help clean up after the livestock sale.

  5. Youth Meat Pen: Meat pen of 3 rabbits, must be the same breed and variety (color). Each Rabbit must weigh between 3–5.5 pounds and be no more than 70 days old as of the date of the show.
